Meet Sherlene, Clinical Coordinator
My interest in sleep began during my work in pharmacy, where I frequently saw how sleep issues affected patients’ overall health, medication effectiveness, and quality of life. Over time, I became increasingly curious about the connection between sleep disorders and chronic conditions, and how proper diagnosis and management could significantly improve a person’s well-being.
After moving to Canada to pursue healthcare administration, I realized that sleep medicine is a field where clinical knowledge and patient-centered care intersect in meaningful ways. I chose a career in sleep because it allows me to combine my clinical background, my passion for holistic care, and my commitment to helping people live healthier, more restful lives.
One of my proudest accomplishments is successfully transitioning my education and career across continents. Earning my Doctor of Pharmacy degree, moving to Canada to pursue healthcare administration, and gaining extensive hands-on experience in pharmacy have been both challenging and rewarding.
This journey demonstrates not only my dedication to healthcare, but also my resilience and ability to adapt to new systems, cultures, and professional environments.
What I love most about working with patients is the opportunity to make a meaningful and tangible difference in their lives. Whether it’s listening to their concerns or supporting them throughout their health journey, I find great fulfillment in helping patients feel heard, cared for, and empowered.
In sleep care specifically, witnessing improvements in a patient’s sleep—and seeing how that positively impacts their mood, energy, and overall quality of life—is incredibly rewarding. I deeply value the trust patients place in me and strive to create a supportive and compassionate environment where they feel comfortable addressing their health needs.
