I chose a career in sleep because I liked the idea of focusing on a specific area and state of the human body that generally, we spend or should be spending half of our lives in. We continue to learn more and more in this field and it’s awesome to be a part of that education process.
My biggest accomplishment in life to date is having the blessing of becoming a mom. It’s been the biggest learning curve of our lives and couldn’t imagine life otherwise.
I love hearing the differences therapy has made in people’s lives. Sometimes it’s subtle, sometimes it’s monumental – but it’s great to be a small part of that change.
I have always been driven by a desire to help others, which made pursuing a career in healthcare an obvious choice. My interest in sleep sparked the moment I saw the complete turn around in the happiness, energy and health of a patient after CPAP therapy was started. It was as if there was a brand new person in front of me. Sleeping better truly changes lives, and I feel very privileged to play a role in that change.
My biggest accomplishment to date was convincing my husband that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me — and making him think it was his idea. Completing the Respiratory Therapy Program is a close second!
Working with patients is my bread and butter. I am so lucky to have the opportunity to build relationships with such amazing people, and help them sleep better!
After years of working in the health care industry, I decided to change and expand my career with Snore MD. Now with being the Sleep Clinician for Snore MD West Kelowna, I am allowed to opportunity to expand my knowledge base with each and every experience I encounter and patient that I assist. I look forward to building the one on one relationships with each and every new patient that walks through the door. I consider it a privilege to be part of each patients journey to a healthier, happier sleep.
My greatest accomplishment in life other than my family is my career. After a motor vehicle accident in my younger years, I ended up going through years of rehabilitation, therefore delaying furthering my schooling. This did not stop me and at my first opportunity, I went back to school to pursue a career in health care. I wanted to make a difference in someone’s life as so many had previously done for me. I look forward to helping each and every one of our patients sleep better and to being a part of the Snore MD family.
