I have always I wanted to help people live healthier and happier lives but hospitals scare me, to death. So I found a career in sleep; so I can make Canadians healthier and happier.
I love educating patients and then following them through a therapy that will improve their quality of life. I love to see patients yearly, as I get to see the difference therapy has made in their lives. Just collecting Karma, is all. Be good, do good.
My biggest accomplishment? I recently paid off all my student loan debt.
Our day starts depending on how great our sleep was. This sets our mood on how we deal with our daily life routines. When I became a Clinical Coordinator, the importance of good sleep has helped me better understand its impact on an individual’s overall health and well-being.
Talking about my greatest accomplishment in life is being a mother. It is an accomplishment that cannot be found on a certificate or a gold medal. Just watching them grow on how I am molding them is already a reflection of that achievement.
It has always been my inclination to choose a career that deals with people interaction. Joining a career Sleep made an instant click with my caring nature and love for educating. I love to work with patients by helping them improve their sleep and leading them to a greater level of comfort of living which they have been missing. I am glad to be part of their gratifying improvement and journey to having a better life.
I chose a career in sleep because I value sleep myself and understand how it plays such an important role in our daily lives. I want to be able to educate patients on how essential sleep is. Sleep allows our body and mind to recharge, helps our body remain healthy, can lower the risk for serious health problems, and can help reduce stress and improve our moods.
My biggest accomplishment in my life thus far was when I ran my first half marathon back in 2018. There is something about setting goals, working towards them, and crushing them! (I was able to beat my goal time by 5 minutes!) Now I share my love for running with my husband and we crush our goals together!
What I enjoy most about working with patients are the connections that are made and hearing about how CPAP Therapy has changed their lives for the better!
It’s amazing how something as simple as a good night’s sleep can save us from such a range of major illnesses. We as a society spend a substantial amount on those ailments after they manifest, while taking sleep for granted. But the truth is sleep is one of the most important things in terms of preventative care; and that is why I pursued a career in sleep therapy.
When working with a patient, I love taking the journey with them. In the beginning we educate, discuss their concerns, and truly make them involved in all aspects of their treatment. Then day by day, week by week, they see the health benefits, not just statistically but mentally and physically. The excitement of our patients from then on is contagious because the truth is effective medicine must be a collaborative effort.
I received my Medical Doctorate abroad and it was one of the most challenging and fulfilling things I have ever done. But my biggest accomplishment isn’t the degree hanging on the wall, but the family picture next to it of my beautiful wife and newborn son. Each day I strive to make them proud.
So if you or someone you know, may have sleep issues, please come by and let’s have a real conversation.
