We partner with family doctors and other health professionals to deliver sleep solutions for every individual. We are part of your community, and you become a part of ours.
Given how much time we spend asleep (or trying to sleep) it is surprising how little attention most people pay to the quality of their sleep and how it effects their overall health quality of life.
My biggest accomplishment in life is the thriving furniture business my husband and I have built and our 2 wonderful boys. While building furniture is a passion for my husband, and I have been able to provide key assistance, my background is in healthcare. I’m proud that after many hard years of working towards this shared goal of ours, I am now able to focus on my own career.
Witnessing first hand how therapy can dramatically change the quality of life, for not only our patients but for their family members, has had the greatest impact on me. It makes me excited everyday to see how significantly we are helping to change people’s lives for the better.
I chose a career in sleep because sleep is such an underrated and underappreciated part of our lives. That, and I love to sleep! I’ve learned that a night of good sleep is necessary for optimal daytime function and also what a lack of sleep can do (Thanks to a kid that doesn’t enjoy sleep as much as I do.) but, perspective, right? Aside from that, I really do love to see the difference a good sleep can make in people’s lives.
If you thought I was going to say my biggest accomplishment in life is my wife (and little guy), well, you’re absolutely right! They are my biggest supporters and helped me through my second biggest accomplishment- finishing the Respiratory Therapy program in Edmonton, AB, while living apart from my wife for 3 years. It was a challenging time that saw me flying over the Rockies more times than I can count. But, we made it and we are proud of that!
I love working with patients and educating them on their disease processes and how everything is intertwined. I think the best thing we can do is help patients understand what is going on and give them the tools necessary to manage their condition. I love helping my patients from the initial meeting and understanding their concerns and supporting them as they achieve their goal of a good night’s sleep. It’s incredible what a good sleep can do for your relationships, health, and mental well-being!
It’s amazing how something as simple as a good night’s sleep can save us from such a range of major illnesses. We as a society spend a substantial amount on those ailments after they manifest, while taking sleep for granted. But the truth is sleep is one of the most important things in terms of preventative care; and that is why I pursued a career in sleep therapy.
When working with a patient, I love taking the journey with them. In the beginning we educate, discuss their concerns, and truly make them involved in all aspects of their treatment. Then day by day, week by week, they see the health benefits, not just statistically but mentally and physically. The excitement of our patients from then on is contagious because the truth is effective medicine must be a collaborative effort.
I received my Medical Doctorate abroad and it was one of the most challenging and fulfilling things I have ever done. But my biggest accomplishment isn’t the degree hanging on the wall, but the family picture next to it of my beautiful wife and newborn son. Each day I strive to make them proud.
So if you or someone you know, may have sleep issues, please come by and let’s have a real conversation.
We have opened our doors in Mission and couldn’t be more excited to be providing sleep solutions to the community. You may have reached out for help before, finding that other clinics are not very accessible—open only part-time with long wait lists. Snore MD is different—our sleep clinics are open six, sometimes seven, days a week. Need an evening appointment? Contact us and we can accommodate after-hour appointments. We also welcome walk-ins at our convenient location, just left of FreshCo in The Shops at Mission Hill.
With no waitlists, Snore MD Mission Sleep Apnea Clinic can usually accommodate same day appointments. This means that you can start getting the support and treatment you need right away.
Just a few simple steps and you are on your way to a better night’s sleep. Visit our Mission sleep clinic and fill out a simple information form. Next step is to complete an at-home sleep test for two nights with the results reviewed by our clinicians. At that point, we will determine the best way to treat your sleep issues and whether you would benefit from CPAP Therapy (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure). We will continue to support you for as long as you need care and can adapt treatment to any changes that occur.
