What Is a Sleep Assessment — and Why Do We Start There?

You don’t need to guess what’s happening with your sleep.

If you’re snoring, waking up tired, or struggling with daytime fatigue, it’s natural to wonder:
Do I need a sleep test?
Is this just stress—or something more?
What’s the first step?

At Snore MD, every successful sleep journey begins with one simple thing:
a Sleep Assessment.

Before testing devices.
Before therapy.
Before assumptions.

Because better sleep starts with clarity.

What Is a Sleep Assessment?

stop bang (1)

A sleep assessment is a clinically guided screening designed to evaluate your risk for sleep apnea and other sleep-related breathing disorders. The questions we ask are backed by 50+ years of Canadian sleep research.

Our Online Sleep Assessment takes just a few minutes and reviews key indicators such as:

  • Snoring frequency and intensity
  • Daytime fatigue and low energy
  • Observed breathing pauses during sleep
  • Morning headaches or dry mouth
  • Blood pressure and related health factors

This isn’t a sleep-tracking app.

It’s an evidence-based screening tool, aligned with established medical frameworks like STOP-BANG, used to determine whether further diagnostic testing is appropriate.

Why Do We Start With an Online Sleep Assessment?

Because sleep health is personal and the right path forward depends on your unique symptoms and risk factors.

Sleep Test in the Comfort of Your Own Bed
If clinically indicated, we provide a professional Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) that collects your sleep clinical data over two nights in your own bed. For the test we use a small, non-invasive device that captures accurate, real-world sleep data, that is reviewed by qualified sleep physicians. Coverage for testing may be available through provincial health programs such as MSP (BC) or AHCIP (Alberta), depending on your situation.
