29 October 2020 Categories: Our Dream Team Author: Michael Davis
The Snore MD Port Coquitlam Team is ready to help you get the good night sleep you deserve.

As an urban centre with rivers, mountains, and numerous industries and attractions, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam residents need a good night’s sleep to work, play, and enjoy life. And now, thanks to the Snore MD Port Coquitlam sleep apnea clinic, they can.

As the Coast Salish Kwikwetl ’em people’s ancestral territory, Port Coquitlam is known as the City of Rivers and Mountains. Luckily for PoCo residents who love the great outdoors, Port Coquitlam is bordered by the Fraser River in the south, the Coquitlam River in the west, and the Pitt River in the east. Locals can be found walking their dogs on local trails, fishing the rivers, biking along the Traboulay Poco Trail, admiring the flowers at Colony Farm Regional Park, or hiking up Mount Burke or Coquitlam Mountain.

Part of the Tri-Cities area, Port Coquitlam and the neighbouring cities of Coquitlam and Port Moody are the fastest growing communities in Metro Vancouver. According to the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce, Port Coquitlam continues to see economic growth with a mix of commercial, light industrial, and residential development.

Meet Port Coquitlam Snore MD’s Dream Team

Our clinical coordinator and sleep clinician have the expertise, tools, and equipment to treat your sleep apnea and snoring.

Born and raised in nearby New Westminster, clinical coordinator Maggie Degraw has been with Snore MD for two years.

Maggie finds it rewarding when she is able to answer patient questions.

Maggie started working in Lower Mainland sleep apnea clinics after graduating from the medical assistant program at Douglas College in 2017. She has also worked in health administration with the Fraser Health Authority.

“A lot of my job is administrative, supporting the patient, helping patients access insurance coverage and the best sleep apnea treatment possible, including setting patients up with CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machines, fitting them for masks, and answering all their questions.

”When not helping patients, Maggie enjoys taking her dog out for walks on Langley and Port Coquitlam trails. She and her fiancé also have two cats.

From Calgary originally, sleep clinician Thomas Sagenes graduated from the Registered Respiratory Therapist program at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.  Thomas has been steadily working with patients to treat their sleep apnea symptoms with CPAP therapy.

“I have seen dramatic changes in CPAP treatment for sleep apnea in the past five years. Snore MD is unique as it is more patient focused. It is a quickly growing company with an aim for patient satisfaction,” he says.

Thomas is passionate about helping patients experience better sleep.

When not educating and treating sleep apnea patients using the latest CPAP equipment, Thomas enjoys hiking local mountains.

Taking the Steps to a Better Sleep, Better Life

Are you waking up in the middle of the night to the sound of your snoring? Is lack of sleep interrupting your daily routine?

The first step towards better sleep is recognizing snoring and sleep apnea symptoms and seeking treatment by walking through the doors at our Port Coquitlam Snore MD clinic to meet our dream team.

Patients who visit our sleep facility will see posters and infographics explaining the risks of sleep apnea and all that Snore MD offers, along with a full display of CPAP masks.

Thomas downloads sleep data, reviews the results with patients and then discusses further treatment.

After answering questions that help us get to know you better, you will receive a FREE take-home two-day sleep test that assesses your breathing and sleep patterns, says clinic coordinator Maggie.

“Patients start their sleep study the day they walk into our clinic,” Thomas adds. “After returning the sleep study results, it only takes a quick download for us to review results and then discuss further treatment. We consult with your doctor, arrange all the paperwork, including prescriptions and insurance, and find you the right-fitting equipment so you can get started on CPAP therapy right away.”

Patients already on CPAP can visit Snore MD’s Port Coquitlam clinic to trade in their old mask to receive a $100 discount off a new CPAP mask.

Snore MD also offers a up to $400 Trade In Program for sleep apnea patients to purchase new model CPAP machines.

“Our Care for Life program gives you unlimited distilled water to use in the humidifier in your CPAP machine. We provided jugs with a Snore MD label, for free refiles and to cut down on plastic usage,” Maggie says.

Snore MD believes in protecting your health and safety. That’s why our Port Coquitlam clinic features a sanitize station at the front door and social distance stickers on the floor. Our team members wear masks when attending to patients, and all chairs, debit machines and other common areas are cleaned after use. We also offer curb-side pickup for all products.
