Meeting the Needs for Sleep Apnea Treatment in Southern Alberta

24 September 2019 Categories: Our Dream Team Author: Matt Richmond
Snore MD Lethbridge sleep clinician Rob Bauer is qualified to provide the best sleep solutions for sleep apnea and other sleep and breathing-related disorders.

Like the Old Man who got out of bed and bumped his head, Lethbridge residents living on either side of the Old Man River need to get a good night’s sleep. If you are experiencing wakeless nights caused by snoring or suspect you may have the sleeping disorder known as obstructed sleep apnea (OSA), Snore MD’s newly opened Lethbridge sleep clinic is here to help.

Snore MD Opens its First Alberta Clinic

With 12 locations now open in British Columbia (and two on the way), Lethbridge is Snore MD’s first Alberta clinic. Our walk-in storefront, located at the West Lethbridge Towne Centre, is an easy drive across the Whoop-Up Drive Bridge from the eastside of town, and away from downtown traffic.

We also offer the best sleep solutions to those coming from the north along Highway 25, east-west on the Crowsnest (Highway 3), or south on Highways 4 or 5.

Our services can be accessed by anyone, and there is no need to obtain a doctors referral prior to visiting us, just walk right in to our clinic!

Best of all, we offer free parking

Meet Our Sleep Clinician Rob Bauer

Rob runs our Lethbridge clinic and has 29 years of experience in respiratory and pulmonary care. A graduate of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Rob spent a year at Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton before working for oxygen supply and therapy companies in Grande Prairie and Lethbridge.

He was branch manager of Medigas for three years prior to opening Lethbridge’s Respiratory Homecare Solutions.

Rob is also a certified polysomnographic technician, credentialed by the BRPT (Board of Registered Polysolmnographic Technologists) and is qualified to care for SDB (sleep disordered breathing) patients.

Accessible Treatment for Sleep Apnea (OSA) and Other Sleep-Related Disorders

Normally recognized by loud snoring, interrupted breathing, and restless sleep, OSA occurs when the soft tissue in the airway or throat collapses during sleep, blocking air from reaching the lungs. When left untreated, it can be the cause or further complicate health issues such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart palpitations, obesity, driving/workplace injuries, and more.

Snore MD uses proven methods to assess and treat people with OSA and other breathing and sleep related disorders. One of them is Continuous Positive Airway Pressure or CPAP therapy, which uses CPAP equipment, including an easy-to-wear and clean mask, to deliver constant air pressure to maintain steady airflow and breathing.

Three Easy Steps

Those working on the farm, classroom, or in the office have easy access to our proven four-step sleep solutions. This includes a complimentary sleep test and consult, CPAP equipment evaluation, and our Care for Life program, which offers you continuous support to a better sleep, better life.

The Lethbridge clinic is also open six days a week, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

“Our accessible hours allow those suffering from lack of sleep to walk into our clinic to conduct our free sleep test and evaluation. We want them to rest easy so they can function at work, have energy for that hockey or basketball practice, and spend quality time with their families,” says Rob.

Snore MD’s Lethbridge sleep clinic is now open to help Lethbridge and Southern Alberta residents find the best possible sleep apnea solutions. Find us at our West Lethbridge Towne centre location near Home Hardware at #21-550 University Drive West. Or call 587-787-3013 for more information. Walk-ins are always welcome.
